Tools out of Flint
Tools out of Flint

The south of Schleswig-Holstein was already quite densely populated during the Neolithic period, as the numerous tools made of excellently worked flint make clear. This compilation of Neolithic flint tools comes from a school collection. In addition to blades that served as preparatory work for various small implements, there are also ground axe blades and carefully struck daggers. The "cast seam" on one of the dagger handles, which is probably modelled on bronze, already points to the imminent replacement of stone by the new metal.
